Professional Profile
Sue Lewis is a textile artist with a passion for fiber art in 2-D and 3-D work. Current work includes wall hangings, vessels, bowls, vases and spirit dolls. She is an accomplished visual artist with experience in time management, client relationships, meeting deadlines and communications with other artists, as well as making evocative art. She is adept at using a variety of techniques to express her artwork: needle-felting, painting, stenciling, printing, modifying photo images and mixed media.
Education
Colorado State University – Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, graduated 1970
Metropolitan State College – Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Art and Communication graduated 1980
Workshops taken include art quilting, eco-dyeing, beading, painting and dyeing fabric, electronic cutting machine, long-arm quilting, composition, color, mark making and making artist’s hand-bound journals

Juried Exhibits
Sue has exhibited and sold work in Aspen and Evergreen Gallery in Estes Park, The Art Center of Estes Park, Lakewood Art Gallery, Foothills Art Center, National Center for Atmospheric Research, R Gallery in Boulder, CO, Bringham City Museum, UT and in AAR River Gallery. She has been juried into Front Range Contemporary Quilter’s “Best of” Portfolio online exhibit for the last several years (2017 – present) and invited to exhibit in the annual Face of Fiber in Estes Park. Her quilt, “First Light” was selected as the Juror’s Choice award and for “Face It” in FRCQ’s exhibit available online at Front Range Contemporary Quilter’s website www.artquilters.org.
