I have been assembling paper and fabric collages for wall hanging. Here are recent efforts. The larger collage on the left is “Canvas on Silk” on stretched canvas. The top right is going to be a stitched wall hanging and the bottom image is a stitched wall hanging.
Took a wonderful workshop with Valerie White this last weekend. So many fun techniques from flour paste resist, to deconstruction and stenciling with stabilizer and acrylic paint.
Below see a quick collage of images showing a variety of collages, textures, weathered paper and an inside view of a momigami vase with indigo papers and some stitching I have done recently.
This is a very soft coiled bowl made with cotton and linen thread. I have embellished this with little ties in lavender.
Also below are my submissions to “Exploring Darkness” for R Gallery in Boulder. These are all mixed media pieces ranging in size from 6″ x 8″ up to 12″ x 12″.
